[Switch] Super Mario Odyssey review

Developer: Nintendo

Release date: 27-Oct-2017

Another Mario game. This time it comes in 3D and where you can travel around the world and do whatever you want. The ultimate goal is (again) rescuing the troublesome Peach, who is (again) kidnapped by Bowser to become his bride. The gameplay is still the same: Mario running and jumping around. But this time he is with Cappy, a cap that travels with him and can transfer Mario to other creatures’ bodies. Literally, now you can become a Goomba, a fish, a woodpecker, etc. and use their power to aid your journey. This really elevates the gameplay as players are free to explore the game in whatever way they can think of.

The background music is good as always for first party Nintendo games, although it does not give much impression. Graphically, the game is colorful with lively characters and breathtaking scenes. The story… nah, it’s just the same obsolete princess rescuing that I guess no one even care now.

Long story short, this is a must have game for anyone owning a Nintendo Switch. The game also offers 2-player co-op mode, so you can play it with your friends or family. This is just perfect.
